March 7 - Incorporation complete! We are officially Fountain Hills Artists Association, Inc. March 18 - Interest letters mailed to all known artists in Fountain Hills. We requested that artists return the slip at the bottom of the letter to us to let us know how many are interested in participating. March 21 - Sent request for tax exempt status to the IRS. April 2 - Met with Dr. Kari King of Fountain Hills High School to inform her of the purpose of the studio tour and the possibility of working together to accomplish our mission. Requested that we use the school as the tour "home base" where we can showcase student art and hopefully provide transportation to visitors around the tour route. June 12 - Received official notice from IRS of our 501(c)(3) status. We are classified as a public charily. Contributions to FHAA are tax deductible under section 170 of the Code. |
